An exhibition with Kerry Simmons, Kiera James and Oliver David
Private View 6th Oct 6-10pm
Open 7-31st Oct 9 – 5pm
Kerry Simmons, Kiera James and Oliver David are emerging photographers working in and around East London, they invite you to their group show as part of Photomonth East 2011.
Simmons observes raging consumption of entertainment and leisure through the lens and acknowledges that she herself is fully immersed in the cycle…
James’ images are concerned with history, change and the passing of time by revealing the reclaimed or recovered within London’s urban landscapes.
David presents interludes from the life of Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile. How has such a contradictory and implausible character become such a significant archetype? As we enter an ever more distrustful age, as history, myth, objectivity and fiction collapse, the artist asks ‘Does it really matter if we just make it up’?
